Planet of the Dead Blu-Ray Goes to Helen Lesser
Last month we stated we would give a brand new unopened copy of Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead in HD on Blu-ray to randomly selected Podshock Supporting Subscriber (Planet of the Dead Blu-Ray Going to a Supporting Subscriber). We promised we would announce the winner at our seasonal meet up on Second Life on the 20th of February (Pre-Gallifrey 21 Meet Up on Second Life). We did. The subscriber we randomly selected was Ken Okel. (Ken was not present at the meet up, but we stated that you need not be present for it).
After contacting Ken, we learned that he had just bought a copy of Planet of the Dead on BD, and offered us to give the disc to another subscriber that may need it. Fortunately, we had selected a runner up just in case something like this occurred. That person is Helen Lesser!

See You at Gallifrey
There's only one more week until Gallifrey 21, the annual premier Doctor Who convention of North America taking place in Los Angeles, CA. Once again, Doctor Who: Podshock will be there in force.
We are holding a Meet and Greet on the Thursday evening before the convention ("Gallifrey Eve," if you like) at the same hotel. It is at 10pm PST on the 25th of February. It is late enough to allow many of people flying in on Thursday to check into the hotel and get some dinner beforehand. The Meet and Greet is an informal (leave the tux at home) gathering where you will have a chance to come by and say hi, meet the Doctor Who: Podshock hosts, correspondents, and regular contributors to the show. Learn more about our Meet and Greet here. If you plan on meeting up with us there, please RSVP here.
If you are a Podshock Supporting Subscriber and you are going to Gallifrey 21, please let us know if you haven't done so already. In addition to the Meet and Greet, we would like to plan something special to do with supporting subscribers at Gallifrey 21. What that might be, depends on how many will be able to join us. It is because of the support of supporting subscribers we are able to bring you the show and do these events. Please if you haven't done so yet, please consider supporting us by becoming a Podshock Supporting Subscriber. It doesn't cost much and it means so much to us.

Thank WHO
As you probably already know, in the US, we are currently in the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. It is a time when many stop and give thanks and express our appreciation for what we are grateful for in life.
Therefore, this posting is an opportunity to express my thanks to everyone that has listened to and supported Doctor Who: Podshock over the years. That in all likelihood means everyone reading this post.
Thank you.
Now in our fifth year in production, we could not have done it without you.
I thank Ken Deep and James Naughton who have been there since the very beginning, as we would not be where we are today without them. They volunteer their time and efforts on an ongoing basis to bring you the show you know and love.
Convention Appearances
Doctor Who: Podshock has been making convention appearances over the last four years which have drawn in crowds. These events give an opportunity for convention audiences to interact on a live recording of the show. Doctor Who: Podshock has appeared at conventions on both the west and east coast of the U.S. Most popular among them are the Gallifrey One conventions in Los Angeles, CA.
A live show adds excitement to an event and brings in additional people that may not have otherwise gone. Plus, the event will gain added exposure since we promote our live appearances on episodes leading up to the event and the recorded live show at the event serves as an ongoing promo for annual or reoccurring events (i.e. Gallifrey One or I-CON).
The White Robot Does Exist!
![]()
You may have seen the White Robot at a Doctor Who conventions, but does the White Robot really exist? Now there is an answer this question. Doctor Who: Podshock special correspondent, Billy Davis constructed his classic White Robot costume as a nod to the 1968 Patrick Troughton story, The Mind Robber. It has become a popular attraction recently at select conventions such as Chicago TARDIS and Gallifrey 2009.

Gallifreyan Embassy / Podshock Apparel Regenerated
Since we introduced the first Gallifreyan Embassy T-shirts back in 1986, they have been popular fashion wear at conventions, meet ups, special events, PBS pledge drives, and just everyday wear. These original shirts and buttons have been long unavailable until 2005, when with the launch of Doctor Who: Podshock, we re-introduced Gallifreyan Embassy / Podshock shirts again.
Like the Doctor and the Doctor Who series itself, the shirts and other related items have been refreshed or "regenerated" if you like. Much of the same basic design remains, just slightly updated. Items include all various style of shirts in various colours. Men and women, plus sizes, kids and toddlers alike shirts can be had now. In addition to shirts, there
are sweatshirts, hoodies, polo shirts, bibs, caps, bags, mugs, buttons, magnets, pet bowls, pillows, stickers, and more. Yes, even TIME MACHINES! Yep, time machines can be purchased as well, although most people use the term, 'clocks' -- they are still time machines. Plus more items.
They are all available at the new Gallifreyan Embassy Cafe Shop.

Doctor Who: Podshock - FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
How can I play AAC files on my non-iPod player?
We have two feeds, one is the enhanced podcast AAC format that will play in any device or software that is compatible with the AAC format (this automatically includes all Apple products such as the iPod, iPhone, iTunes, etc.). Enhanced podcasts include chapters, images, and URL links. They also support higher quality audio without increasing the file size. Our other feed is a plain MP3 format feed which should work in just about any device or player.
